Biography

Kristin Henderson has lived in Los Alamos for 9 years. She is married to Brad Henderson, a geo-physicist at LANL. They have two school-age daughters and they are all parishioners at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Kristin has actively participated in the Trinity Site issue for the past 8 years, following County Council actions, keeping her network of families updated on the issue, and providing input to the County Council. She served on the Trinity Site Revitalization Project citizen's committee and helped select the developer. Kristin wrote the FAQ about Trinity Site that was published in the Los Alamos Monitor and circulated it via a successful viral email campaign.

Her volunteer community service has also included leading a neighborhood committee to build a new play park, teaching religious education at IHM Catholic Church, chairing a fundraiser at Little Forest Playschool, volunteering at Mountain School, and serving as a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She has also facilitated non-profit board meetings in Los Alamos and in her previous hometown of Denver.

Kristin has a law degree from UCLA School of Law, and a BA in Philosophy from Claremont McKenna College.  She practiced law in Los Angeles and Denver, in entertainment, real estate and business law, and worked in software as a law subject-expert and as Director of both Product and Project Management (where she was featured in Business Week as “Kristin Coel”), and worked as a stay-at-home mom. For the past six years, she has worked as a real estate agent at RE/MAX of Los Alamos.

She grew up in Boulder, Colorado, and lived in Los Angeles and Denver before moving with her husband to Santa Fe for a year and then to Los Alamos. Besides her community involvements, she likes to read, ski, and spend time with her family.
